Electrician
Job Summary
• We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to carry out electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding work across industrial, commercial and construction projects.
• The successful candidate will work safely, professionally and to the required standards while meeting project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, repair and test electrical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Carry out first-fix and second-fix electrical installation work as required.
• Identify electrical faults and carry out appropriate repairs and remedial works.
• Install cable containment, cabling, distribution equipment, lighting and associated electrical components.
• Complete inspection, testing and commissioning activities where suitably qualified.
• Work effectively with other trades, supervisors, contractors and site management.
• Maintain accurate records, job sheets and relevant certification.
• Follow company procedures, site rules, risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
• Report defects, hazards, delays and additional work requirements to the appropriate manager.
Essential Requirements
• Relevant electrical qualification/apprenticeship or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Practical experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
• Good understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow specifications.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication, reliability and time-management skills.
• Valid driving licence where required for the role.
Desirable
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Inspection and Testing qualification.
• ECS/JIB or other relevant industry card.
• Industrial or commercial electrical experience.
• Experience working on construction sites or large-scale projects.
• Relevant health and safety training.
Working
Conditions
• Work may take place on construction, commercial or industrial sites.
• The role may involve working at height, in confined areas and around other trades and machinery.
• PPE must be worn where required and all site health and safety procedures must be followed.
• Some projects may require travel, early starts, overtime or occasional weekend work.
